The number of students who scored a mean grade of D and below continued to remain alarmingly high in the KCSE 2024 national examinations.
According to the KCSE 2024 results that were released by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on Thursday, 434,333 students scored the lowest mean grade of E.
The KCSE 2024 results further showed that 151,487 students managed to score a mean grade of D Minus. They were followed by 153,334 students who scored a mean grade of D Plain while another 128,885 students scored the grade of D Plus.
On the opposite extreme, some 246,391 candidates will get directly entry into local universities after managing to get the cut off grade of C Plus for direct entry.
Among these, 1,693 students scored a mean grade of A Plus while another 7,743 students scored a mean grade of A Minus.
However, the KCSE 2024 results showed that some 840 students will not be receiving any results affer their results were canaceled over examination irregularities.

Additionally, the results of some 2,899 students have been withheld over what the Kenya National Examinationd Council suspects as exam malpractices.
