Netizens were over the weekend astonished by a Mama Mboga from Burma Market in Nairobi who presented a whooping Sh6 million to pastor Ezekiel’s New Life Church in Mombasa, moments after receiving it from her son.
In a video that went viral on social media, the businesswoman wanted Odero to bless the money as she expressed fears that the money which was in a sack could be proceeds of crime.
Narrating how she obtained the cash, the troubled lady alleged that she got the money from officers at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) – (Presently DCI) who had obtained it from her son’s car.
The officers obtained the cash in dollars and in the company of her son moved to a local bank and exchanged the money for Kenyan currency.
She noted that the amount of money exchanged totaled Sh10 million but the officers claimed a share of Ksh4 million and handed her the ksh6 million cash in six piles before disappearing with her son to an unknown destination.

“Pastor, I don’t know what to do or what to say, money was brought to me in dollars from foreign countries, and it was in my son’s car. CID officers who are my son’s friends came to my workplace where I sell vegetables and gave me six million and drove away with my son,” she told the Pastor.
The mama mboga noted that she failed to understand whether the amount was a reward or proceeds of crime given her son works as a taxi driver. She further expressing fear of her son’s fate as she was unable to find him.
In his response, Pastor Ezekiel promised to keep the money safe and provide security for the woman until she locates her son.
“I will keep the money safe for you. Go and look for your son, know his location and health status. I will give you a place to stay until we know the truth.
My security will accompany you to record a statement. When the police want more details, we will comply so that the money can get back to its rightful owner,” Odero stated.
