Before joining Radio Africa’s Radio Jambo, popular reggae presenter Mbusi was offered a very lucrative job offer by Royal Media Services.
At the time, Mbusi was working at Ghetto Radio. He met the Royal Media management and they discussed the job offer, salary and benefits. They then came to an agreement that he would soon join Radio Citizen.
The presenter however had a change of mind before he made the move. “My friends advised me that the switch was suicidal as Ghetto Radio was the best station and it was considered my home. Others told me to join Radio Citizen as it was the best decision to make then. I was confused. I sat down and meditated and declined to join the Royal Media Services station,” he said.
A few months down the line, he got a phone call from Shaffie Weru who was then working at KISS FM with another job offer. Shaffie asked Mbusi to join the Radio Africa Group. “I thought I was going to join KISS FM. I asked my co-host Bonoko to go with me but he declined,” said Mbusi.
