Melody Sinzore is a name that needs no introduction in the Kenyan media industry. With her fluent Swahili accent and skill in presenting, Melody has captured the hearts of millions of radio listeners in the country.
Over the years, she has become a household name and a force to reckon with in the industry. She has also become a social media influencer, working with brands and encouraging her followers.
Despite the trend of journalists frequently switching from one media house to another in recent years, Sinzore has remained with Royal Media’s Radio Citizen for more than seven years.
While she has received job offers from other media outlets, she has chosen to stay at Radio Citizen, citing the station as her home.
Sinzore began her journalism career at KBC, where she worked as an intern. Her skill and fluency in articulation landed her a job on Radio Citizen, where she has worked to date.

Speaking to local media houses, Sinzore revealed that she has received many job offers from other media houses but prefers to stay at her current station because it’s home.
“Ntakua mnafiki nikisema kwamba sijapata mialiko. Napata mialiko sana. Lakini Radio Citizen ndio nyumbani. Royal Media ndio nyumbani.
“(I will be a hypocrite if I say that I have not received invitations. I receive a lot of invitations. But Radio Citizen is home. Royal Media is home)”Melody said.
According to the presenter, the job offers are indications that she is working and people are noticing and appreciating her work.
“Mialiko ninapata na nashukuru sana. Kwa sababu it only means that people are recognizing what we are doing, and people are happy to associate with me, Melody Sinzore; that’s why the offers are coming on the table.
“(I receive offers and I am very grateful because it only means that people are recognizing what I am doing. People are happy to associate with me, Melody Sinzore. That’s why the offers are coming to the table),” she said.
Sinzore believes that she is serving her purpose through radio. As a born-again Christian, she believes that God has put her there to pass different messages to society.
For her, being a media personality is about more than just money; it means fulfilling her goals and objectives in life. This is why she loves being at Radio Citizen.
She acknowledges that while money is important, it is not everything. If you have goals in life, there are many other factors to consider. She says that she is currently happy at Royal Media Services and Radio Citizen, and her heart is at peace there.
