Evelyne Musambi: Controversial Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has denied claims that he stripped and boxed fellow legislator Millie Odhiambo in the face.

Through her Facebook account, Millie Odhiambo had singled out Mr Kuria as one of her assaulters stating: “I was boxed in the eye by Moses Kuria…”

But reached on phone, the Gatundu MP denied ever punching Millie, instead saying he only blocked her from assaulting Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso.

“She came attacking the Deputy Speaker and I considered it my duty to block her. I did not hit her and if she has any evidence of blows hurled at her she can present it,” said Mr Kuria.

Millie Odhiambo also had posted a photo of her swollen face on Facebook. But Mr Kuria maintained that no one stripped the Mbita legislator -or attempted to- as she claimed.

“She is the one who actually removed her panty and threw it on the floor of the House. She was behaving like a mad woman saying how Luo women are not embarrassed of their nakedness” said an irritated Kuria.

Millie Odhiambo in her Facebook post had stated that she prides in her nakedness and she is fearfully and wonderfully made.

“When they tried to undress me I completed the process for them…I cannot and will not be intimidated using my sexuality,” reads her post in part.

The recently elected MP for Gatundu South added that he had no apologies for blocking Millie Odhiambo from attacking the Deputy Speaker.

“The Deputy Speaker is a woman like Millie Odhiambo and I have no regrets for protecting a woman from being attacked by fellow women in the house,” he said.

Mr Kuria stated that the altercation took place at the moment when Homabay’s Gladys Wanga came forward and allegedly poured water on Ms Laboso.

He added that at that moment he blocked them from attacking her but later on towards the end of the putting of questions by the speaker, Millie removed her inner wear.

Millie was among the opposition MPs who were calling for the postponement of the debate on the contentious Security Laws Bill.

By the time the live feed from parliament went off, she could be seen at the front near where the Speaker was sitting while shouting a long and consistent “nay” when the question on different clauses to be included in the bill were being put.
