The Ministry of Public Service, through the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, has announced the recruitment of 100 qualified individuals to fill the position of Driver II, CSG 1.
In a notice, the department invited qualified Kenyans to apply for the positions. Successful candidates will be employed on a permanent and pensionable basis taking home a monthly salary of between Sh19,340 to Sh24,470.
They will also be entitled to a commuter allowance of Sh3,000, a house allowance based on deployment region, and an annual leave allowance of Sh4,000.
Requirements
- To qualify, applicants must have:
A KCSE Mean Grade of D plain or its equivalent from a recognized institution - A Valid driving License free from any current endorsement (s) for class (es) of vehicle (s) an officer is required to drive
- Attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution
- Passed Suitability Test Grade III
- Police Clearance Certificate
- At least two years driving Experience

Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:
- Driving a motor vehicle as authorized
- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems
- Maintenance of work tickets for the vehicles assigned
- Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road
- Ensuring safety of the passengers and/or goods therein
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle
