Mombasa’s Moi International Airport has been recognized and awarded after topping the charts in customer excellence, earning the prestigious title Best Airport in Africa.
This is per Airports Council International (ACI) World’s ASQ awards which are an annual celebration of airports in Africa with the best customer experience, determined through Departure and Arrival Surveys.
Kenya Airports Authority Chairperson Caleb Kositany said that Moi International Airport was awarded for being the best in terms of size and service they offer to customers.
“Airports Council International (ACI), the voice of world airports, has honored Moi International Airport (MIA) in Mombasa with the prestigious award for excellence in customer service,” the chairperson spoke.
“MIA was voted the Best Airport by size in the under 2 million passengers categories,” he added.
In the previous year’s awards, Moi International came at third place for this similar award, right after Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (Zanzibar) and Ivato International Airport (Madagascar).
Since its inception in 2006, the ACI Airport Service Quality Survey has become a standard for measuring passenger satisfaction at airports and receives participation from 400 airports across 109 countries.
Moi International Airport named best airport in Africa
Moi Airport has consistently been recognized in the customer satisfaction area, having won the award on two previous occasions in 2021 and 2022.
Earlier this year in March, ACI World Director General Luis Felipe De Oliveira handed over the 2023 award to KAA for setting the global standard in airport services.
“Congratulations to the whole team at Moi International Airport in Mombasa on their success in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. Your dedication to excellence in customer experience sets a benchmark for airports worldwide! Keep setting the bar high,” he said.
