Moi University has announced the auction of various items, including cars, dogs, donkeys, and pigs.

In a notice, Moi university Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiplagat Kotut said the auction will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2025 at the farmyard, main campus in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County.

“Moi University shall be selling the following items by public auction on Thursday, June 24, at the Main Campus Transport Department yard and farmyard starting at 9:30 am,” reads part of the notice.

The items on auction include motor vehicles, livestock, dogs, used tyres, and other assorted equipment.

The university will dispose of a Toyota Hilux pick, for Sh350,000 while used tyres will go for Sh12,000.

At the same time, well-bred bulls and bull calves will also be sold, with reserve prices ranging between Sh7,000 to Sh70,000.

Other livestock put on sale are donkeys going from Sh9,000 to Sh15,000 while prices for pigs range between Sh3,500 and Sh7,000. The university will also dispose of a German Shepherd at a reserved price of Sh40,000.

Interested bidders are required to register between 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. on the auction day, and viewing will be allowed on June 20 and 23, 2025, from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the storage points.

To participate, bidders must pay a refundable deposit of Sh20,000 for the motor vehicle or Sh2,000 for other items to obtain a bid number.

The items will be sold on “As-Is-Where-Is” basis and on a cash basis at the fall of the hammer. The highest bidder shall be declared the purchaser and will be required to settle the auction amount immediately.

According to the university, the bidding amount of the successful bidder shall be retained as a deposit.
