Nominated member of parliament David Sankok has lost his son to suicide. This is after the son shot himself dead at their home in Narok County.
The boy is suspected to have used his father’s gun to end his life. It was however not clear how he accessed it. The boy was a Form 4 student at Maseno High School.

“The father was not home when the boy shot himself and it’s not clear how to be accessed the firearm that should have been properly secured,” a senior officer was quoted by the media.
Narok County Criminal Investigations Offcer (CCIO) Mwenda Ithaiba said that the boy was supposed to be at school. “From the preliminary investigations, we have established that the boy was meant to go back to school last week but he didn’t. He spent the money that was meant for shopping and returned home,” said Ithaiba.
Ithabia said that Sankok and his son had altercation in the morning over the boy’s failure to return to school. Following the altercation, Sankok left for Ewaso Nyiro. Thereafter, the boy accessed the gun’s safe and pulled the trigger on himself.
