American youtuber Mr Beast builds 52 wells, bridge, gifts computers to schools in Kenya

Famous American YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, alias Mr Beast, undertook the construction of numerous wells, a bridge, as well as the provision of computers to schools in Kenya as part of his philanthropic efforts.

His actions have impressed many Kenyans and sparked numerous comparisons between the local government and his humble contributions to Kenyan society.

The content creator on his YouTube channel shared a video showcasing this milestone for several communities. He expressed his disbelief at the fact that schoolchildren and the entire community had to drink contaminated water.

A section of Kenyans seized this opportunity to criticize the Kenyan government for not fulfilling their election promises. Mr. Beast said that charitable projects like these don’t necessarily require heavy government funding, but rather the willingness of individuals.

He encouraged his fans and supporters to keep contributing funds as he continued his philanthropic work, aiming to make the world a better place for humanity.

“These 100 wells we built in Africa will change a lot of lives but definitely not enough. This is why we need your help,” he mentioned in the video.

In the video, which garnered 40 million views just a day after its release, Mr Beast mentioned that it took him 8 months to complete the entire project.

He drilled deep into an aquifer to access the water, which is then elevated & stored in water tanks before being distributed through water taps. Each well is capable of producing 16,500 litres of water in a day.

In his time in Kenya, Mr Beast also constructed a bridge in a local village. The existing bridge was in a poor state and heavy rains made it even worse. This posed a challenge during transportation.

Other generous donations he made to primary schools in the country include providing computers, shelves, books, footballs, whiteboards and projectors to enhance their educational experience.

He also sought to make an impact in other African countries such as Zimbabwe and Cameroon. Mr Beast noted that he uploaded the video to inspire others in his audience to help the less fortunate in society.

“I already know I’m gonna get cancelled because I uploaded a video helping people, and to be 100% clear, I don’t care. I’m always going to use my channel to help people and try to inspire my audience to do the same.”

Kenyan netizens took to their socials to troll the government, opining that the government’s own record is pale compared to what Mr Beast has done in 8 months. Some recalled how the Interior CS flew in a chopper to commission a mud-built classroom.

Others called on these leaders to desist from taking credit for Mr Beast’s projects by rushing to commission them.

“Someone keep an eye on the leaders, they may go to launch these wells,” one user wrote.
