Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s son Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sensationally claimed that it would take the Uganda army two weeks to take over Nairobi in the event of war.
“It wouldn’t take us, my army and me, 2 weeks to capture Nairobi,” Kainerugaba said. He made the sensational claims in a series of tweets on Monday that were interpreted as an attempt to show off his army’s might.
Kainerugaba went on to make jokes about Kenya’s democratic space, arguing former president Uhuru Kenyatta who is a close friend of his would have won a third term if he had vied.

“Haha! I love my Kenyan relatives. Constitution? Rule of law? You must be joking! For us, there is only the Revolution and you will soon learn about it!” he said.
Kainerugaba was previously the commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC).
In 2017 Muhoozi, the son of president Yoweri Museveni, was appointed Presidential Adviser, fueling speculations he is being prepared for the presidency.
He was reappointed as the Commander of the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) in December 2020. Lt. Gen. Muhoozi served in the same position from 2008 to 2017.
Muhoozi was admitted to Egyptian Military Academy where he took both the company and battalion commanders courses. He also has attended the Kalama Armoured Warfare Training School.
In 2007 he was admitted to a one-year course at the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, graduating in June 2008.
Following that, he successfully completed the Executive National Security Programme at the South African National Defence College.
