Mumias Sugar is set to lease out its water bottling plant in a bid aimed at recovering from its current lose-making position.
The move comes four years after Mumias established the plant at a cost of Sh. 200 million.
Mumias Sugar has already invited tenders for the plant located at its Mumias factory. The water bottling plant has capacity to fill 0.5, one and 20-litre bottles.
“We are reorganising our operations Leasing out the plant is the best business option for now because if we decide to sell it that means embarking on a long process and going through other complexities,” Mumias Sugar Company Manager for Corporate Strategy and Communications Moses Owino said.
