Vernacular television queen Muthoni Mukiri is one of the high profile media personalities who left their jobs in 2020. The presenter says that quitting Inooro Tv was probably the hardest decision she has ever made.
In a broadcast on her YouTube channel, Ms. Mukiri alluded that she may have quit her job to concentrate on entrepreneurship. “I wanted to quit employment but I didn’t know where to begin. I had already set up side hustles and investments but the nature of my job made me grow closer to my audience. I feel like they’re my children.” she said.
Muthoni said that she was anxious that she would lose the connection she had been enjoying with the audience once she quit her full-time job. “I went through a lot of anxiety and migraines before making the decision. It really broke my heart to leave but I had to do it for my personal gain,” she said.
She quit her on December 18 last year and made the announcement on her social media channels. “It’s been an amazing five years, but my journey at Inooro TV has come to an end. I want to thank you my fans, my supporters, my friends and everyone who has supported me during that journey. I will miss you dearly,” she said.
Her businesses include the Mukiri Hair Hub, a premium wigs and human hair retail that has so far attracted top local celebrities such as Citizen TV news anchor Mashirima Kapombe, Comedian Teacher Wanjiku, and Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici .
