Young couple, kids perish a day before moving into their newly built home

Peter Miano, his wife Susan and their two kids had dreamed of owning their home in Mwihoko area, Kiambu, County. They had prayed and worked hard to realize this dream. They had even acquired a plot of land and built a simple house where they’d live in as they extended construction into the rest of the plot. Their dream was however cut short. Cut short by death one day before they moved into their new home.

Peter Miano worked as a taxi operator. He lived in a single rental room around Githurai 45 where he paid Sh. 3,800 per month. Towards the end of February, the young family had completed setting up their new home in Mwihoko and were ready to move in. “As February came to an end, the young couple was confident that the structure was ready to host them as they worked on constructing their dream house on the same compound in future,” one report said.

In a similar report that was published by the Daily Nation, the family’s neighbour Syprose said that Miano and his family first wanted to put an end to paying rent and channel that money into other developments.

They even told their landlord goodbye in preparation for their new life in their new two-roomed house. On Sunday morning  February 28, a day before they moved into the house, the lives of Miano, his wife, and two children Prince and Everly, came to a crashing end near the Two Rivers Mall.

Now left behind is the house they worked so hard for but never occupied, sitting lonely on a 40 by 80 piece known as plot 624 in Mwihoko, with an iron-sheet fence bordering the fence.
