The Chinese firm that built the SGR has received a fresh Sh. 2.5 deal for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Nairobi railway system.
China Roads and Bridges Corporation (CRBC) has secured the deal through single sourcing.
According to Transport Cabinet Secretary, there are no other firms with the capacity to carry out the works. As a result, the Transport CS has asked the cabinet to approve the deal without submitting CRBC to competitive bidding.
