The 2020 KCPE Form One placement results are out. In this year’s results, the school that attracted the highest number of applicants was Nanyuki High School.
The results which were released by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha have portrayed the schools Kenyan pupils desire the most and those that attract the least number of candidates.
Nanyuki High got 154,524 applicants against an absorption capacity of only 384.
It was followed by Kabianga High with 142,160 applicants, Pangani Girls with 124,598 applicants, Nyandarua High with 123,688 applicants, Alliance Girls with 105,053 applicants, Maseno School with 104,581 applicants and Nakuru High School with 100,840 applicants.

The results also showed that Faith Mumo, the girl who emerged top in KCPE with 433 marks will be joining Kenya High. Wanyonyi Samuel, the top boy who scored 430 will be joining Mang’u High. 36,254 of the 1,171,265 candidates will join National Schools while 718,516 will be joining sub-county secondary schools.
“We noted that there were some secondary schools that attracted far many applicants when their capacities were far lower,” Prof Magoha said while releasing the Form One selection and placement results at Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).
