NBK sends CEO Munir Ahmed, six managers on forced leave

National Bank of Kenya (NBK) has sent six managers including the chief executive officer Mr. Munir Ahmed on compulsory leave. In a decision arrived at following a board meeting held on Tuesday, NBK’s board of directors also appointed Mr. Wilfred Musau acting CEO to take over from Mr. Ahmed.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Musau was NBK’s director of retail and premium banking. He joined the bank six months ago from NIC Bank where he was the head of business banking in charge of branch business.

“The six managers will immediately proceed on leave but will be expected to comply and make key submissions to the internal audit process,” said the board in a statement.
