NCBA Group is set to host the second International Invitational Junior golf tournament this weekend, marking the culmination of the 2024 Junior series calendar.
The event, organized by Junior Golf Foundation, Kenya (JGF) in collaboration with the U.S. Kids Golf, will kick off on Saturday, January 4, and run until Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.
It will bring together 116 junior golfers from Kenya and various parts of the world including Uganda, Tanzania, DR Congo, Germany, India, Nigeria, South Africa, South Sudan, and China.
The competition targets Boys and Girls aged 5–18 and is structured into age groups with each category playing from age-specific yardages.
The tournament will provide the young golfers with an opportunity to engage in a multi-day championship and secure U.S. Kids Golf Priority Status.
NCBA Golf Series: Inspiring talents and creating business networks
This status, earned at different levels during the tournament, enables players to qualify for other U.S. Kids Golf Major Championships, including Regional, International, World or World Teen Championships.
According to NCBA, the tournament will also serve as a qualifying event for the World Amateur Golf Ranking for Boys and Girls aged 15–18.
The event will also count for order of merit points for non-handicapped and handicapped boys and girls aged 15-18 years in the Kenyan JGF system for the year 2024.
In line with its sustainability agenda on the Change the Story platform, to champion inclusive communities through regional sport development, NCBA will be sponsoring 10 children coming from across all regions in Kenya for this International Invitational tournament,
In 2024, the lender sponsored over 42 junior tournaments across the East African region and, in Kenya, a junior tournament in each region. A key highlight was the World Armature Golf Ranking tournament that was at Kisii Sports Club late last year.
