The Ministry of Education has released the 2023 school calendar. According to the calendar released by the Ministry, the new term for 2023 will start on January 23, 2023.
This first term will end on April 21 and will consist 13 weeks. After this term ends, the second term will kick off on May 8 and end on August 11 2023.
During the second term, there will be a three-day half term that will begin on June 29 and end on July 2.
The final term for the 2023 academic year will begin on August 28 and conclude on November 3. Between November 6 and November 9, primary school pupils will sit for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams.

Between November 10 and December 1, secondary school students will sit for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams.
The new school calendar will see a return to the normal January to November academic years. However, with schools for the 2023 academic year in mid November 2022, students will stay at home for over two months.
Training colleges, whose first terms started on August 29 and ending on December 2 2022, will start their second term on January 23 2023. They will then close on April 21.
Term two will consist of 13 weeks starting from January 23 and ending on April 21, 2023. There will be a two-week break from April 22 that will end on May 7, 2023.
Term three will begin on May 8, 2023, and end on August 11, 2023, followed by a three-week holiday that will be between August 12, 2023 and September 1, 2023.
