The National Police Service (NPS) has announced a nationwide recruitment of Police Constables.
In a notice issued by Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja on Friday, October 31, NPS said the recruitment will be conducted on Monday, November 17, 2025, at designated centers across the country. All applicants are required to report to their respective venues by 8:00 am.
“The recruitment process will take place on Monday, 17th November 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in all designated recruitment centers countrywide. All applicants must be at their respective recruitment Centres by 8:00 a.m.,” NPS stated.
The commission added that the recruitment is free and open to all qualified Kenyans who meet the minimum entry requirements.
“The National Police Service recruitment drive is free and open to all eligible and qualified candidates. Engaging in bribery or any other form of corrupt practices with the intent to influence the recruitment process constitutes a criminal offence,” NPS stated.
Requirements
According to NPS, interested applicants must:
- Be a citizen of Kenya
- Hold a Kenya National Identity Card
- Age: 18–28 years
- Minimum grade in KCSE: D+ (with a minimum of D+ in English or Kiswahili)
- Be physically and medically fit
- Minimum height: Male – 5ft 8in., Female – 5ft 3in
- Have no criminal record or pending criminal charges.
- Female candidates must NOT be pregnant at recruitment and during the ENTIRE training period.

Interested and qualified applicants are required to download and fill the prescribed application form available on www.npsc.go.ke, www.nationalpolice.go.ke, www.kenyapolice.go.ke, www.administrationpolice.go.ke, www.cid.go.ke, and www.mygov.go.ke. Applicants can also obtain the forms at Huduma Centres countrywide.
The announcements come as the High Court declared that the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has no power to recruit, train, employ, assign, promote, suspend, or dismiss members of the NPS.
The court said such functions fall exclusively under the independent command of the Inspector General (IG) as provided in Article 245 of the Constitution.
