Nyandarua Kids: Two children from Nyandarua County who were caught on camera fighting over a pencil and a rubber have been gifted with a new permanent house.
The two poor children, Teresiah Nyakinyua and James Mwangi, hail from Mirangine area in Nyandarua County. Their plight was highlighted on social media after their video went viral. Popular comedian Kiengei and philanthropist Ndungu Nyoro have been leading efforts to change the kids’ lives.
Their new house came courtesy of real estate developer Dhahabu Limited. A rabbit farm for the children has also been set up. Their parents have been awarded with dairy cows and motorbike to help them getting a fresh footing.
Additionally, the deputy president William Ruto has also committed to set up a chicken farm with five hundred chickens for the kids’ parents. “To ensure that they have a stable foundation to make their dreams come true, I have assigned my farm manager to personally ensure their parents establish a fully-funded 500-chicken farm,” Dr. Ruto said.
Real estate developer Peter Nyaga of Mahiga Homes has also pledged that he will facilitate the Nyandarua kids education up to form four.
