The 2022 academic calendar year is expected to run flawlessly for 8 months to restore the altered Kenyan education system on track. This means shorter holidays and midterm breaks for pupils and students.
Term 1 starter on 25th April 2022 and will go on for 10 weeks and will end on 1st July 2022. There will be a three-day midterm running from 26th May to 29th May.
The first term holiday will begin on 2nd July 2022 and will go for only 1 week after which students are expected to report back to schools for resumption of schools on 10th July 2022.
KCPE graduates looking forward to joining form 1 are expected to report to high schools from 3rd May 2022.
Term 2 will start on 11th July 2022 and will go for 10 weeks. This means that schools close their second term on 16th September 2022.
The half-term break will start from 11th August to 14th August, a period of three days only. As from 17th September, students proceed for a 1 week holiday which ends on 25th September.
Term 3 will be expected to start on 26th September 2022 and end on 25th November 2022, a shorter 9 weeks period compared to the other terms.
The week deficit in the third term is owed to schools not being allowed to have any half-term breaks for the third term.
KCPE examinations for the year 2022 will commence on 28th November 2022 and will end on 1st of December 2022.
KCSE examinations will begin on 1st December 2022 and will end on 23rd December 2022.
