Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho has reported that he was carjacked in Nairobi and robbed Sh. 700,000.
The member of parliament who won his third term under the Jubilee party in the August elections said that he was alone in the vehicle when he was stopped by an armed robber at gun point.
Reports say that the MP was driving from a ‘refreshment’ joint at 2am when the gunman allegedly accosted him at the junction of James Gichuru Road and Waiyaki Road.
The gunman was shortly after joined by two accomplices. They forcefully got into the vehicle and ordered him to drive towards Muthiga in Kikuyu.
“He was ordered to lower the car window down and the robber was joined by his two accomplices. The trio then forced their way into the vehicle ordering him to drive to Muthiga,” a police report said.
The report added that Kiaraho was blindfolded by the robbers who then took control of his vehicle. “They then ransacked the motor vehicle and found a total of Sh. 700,000 which was hidden under the driver’s seat,” the report adds.
