Pastor James Ng’ang’a, founder of the Neno Evangelism Centre, has decided to sell his well-known property, the four-star Newstead Hotel, situated along the Nakuru-Nairobi road, for Sh. 800 million.
The televangelist hopes to raise funds to expand his ministry in America, where he plans to open a church that requires Sh. 600 million to finance.
The Newstead Hotel, previously known as Sunny Hill Hotel, opened in June 2016 with several influential leaders gracing the launch.
The hotel’s features, such as a large open playground, high-class swimming pool, and ample parking space, make it an ideal location for outings, family get-togethers, and business conferences.
Pastor Ng’ang’a, known for attracting a large following in his Nairobi church, aims to save lost souls through his ministry.
He believes that opening a church in America will help him reach more people and is willing to sell his hotel to achieve this goal.
In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Pastor Ng’ang’a revealed that his wife, Mercy Murugi, gave birth to their firstborn son in South Carolina, making the child an American citizen by birth.
Consequently, he plans to relocate to the US with his family, where he has been visiting frequently to prepare the ground for his ministry.

The pastor’s plans do not stop at opening a church in America. He also intends to build a new city named Jerusalem City on a 50-acre piece of land he bought in Kajiado county three years ago.
The city will comprise a hotel, shopping mall, bank, and an institution for higher learning, among other facilities. Those attending regular church services will have the privilege of trying out the facilities in Jerusalem City.
Besides building a new city, Pastor Ng’ang’a currently takes care of children who are going to school in grades .
“Already I have 70 children who are going to school in grades 1-4. I also give them food, uniform and shoes,” he narrated.
He provides them with food, uniforms, and shoes, indicating his commitment to bettering the lives of those around him.
The decision to sell the Newstead Hotel was not an easy one for the pastor, given its significance and success.
However, he remains focused on his vision to expand his ministry in America and ultimately save more souls. He believes that the sale will provide the necessary finances to achieve his goals and continue his mission.
