Peter Njogu: The youngest investor thriving in capital-intensive real estate sector

At only 26, Peter Njogu is perhaps one of the youngest investors in Kenya’s booming real estate sector.

The Sales Manager at Zenawi Real Estate is not your typical Gen Z but a force to reckon with, evidenced by his respectful demeanor and charming smile that powers a positive mood.

Starting as an IT Intern
In an exclusive interview, Njogu revealed he started as an IT intern at Zenawi Real Estate, a fast-growing real estate company in Kenya.

Co-Op center

Hungry for success, he gave the opportunity his best, honing his skills in sales under the guidance of his boss Robert Muichua, the CEO of Zenawi Real Estate.

The Power of Mentorship

”I doubt I would be here without the mentorship from our CEO – Robert Muichua, whose commitment to the professional development of the team is unparalleled,’’ he says.

His skills in sales propelled him to more opportunities, earning promotions to higher ranks, including his current role as a Sales Manager.

Celebrating a Career Milestone

Embodying a philosophy of resilience and humility, Njogu believes that ”success goes to the hungriest of them all.’’

Co-Op post

He says his glory days in Kenya’s real estate sector were in November 2023, when he made the highest sales.

”November of last year was my best month. My total income was north of Sh300,000. I felt like I had made it in life,’’ he says laughing. The realtor attributes his success to mentorship from his boss, with hard work and consistency also being strong pillars of his success.

Support from Family and Faith

Njogu further reveals that he couldn’t be successful without the support of his loving wife, not to forget the multiple blessings from the creator.

Real Estate Advice for Aspiring Investors

Having been in the sector for several years, Njogu knows it better. He advises investors intending to venture into real estate to consider fast-rising areas like the Juja Farm.

”Juja Farm is the next Kamakis I tell you. When I first came to Juja Farm, I wondered why land so close to the CBD and Thika Superhighway would be that affordable, and I made a commitment that apart from selling land, I would also personally invest. God has been gracious; I am one of the investors of our Olive Gardens Phase 1 which is currently sold out.’’

Juja Gardens Phase 6: A Prime Investment Opportunity

One of the projects he says investors can take advantage of is Zenawi Real Estate’s newly launched Juja Gardens Phase 6.

The project is located 100 meters from Juja Farm Athi Shopping Centre and goes for only Sh850,000. The plots at Juja Gardens Phase 6 measure 40 by 90, with water and electricity readily available.

Essential Amenities and Security
Other amenities include schools, churches, hospitals like Kalimoni Hospital and Juja Farm Medical Clinic, and the Juja Farm police post that guarantees security.

Investors can also check property at the Malaa Gardens along Kangundo Road and the Juja Muthaara Gardens.

Flexible Payment Plans and Fast Title Deed Transfers

The benefits of investing with Zenawi extend beyond top-notch customer service, as the firm offers flexible installment plans of up to 12 months.

”Unlike so many companies in this space, we are not brokers and we do not sell on behalf. We only sell land that we own. We transfer title deed to your name within 30 days upon completion of payment,’’ says Njogu.
