Fuel prices across the country have been reduced. In the new order of prices, Super Petrol, diesel and kerosene prices have decreased by Sh. 7.21, Sh. 5.09, Sh. 4.49 per litre respectively.
“In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, EPRA Kenya has calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from March 15 to April 14,” the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump price for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene have decreased by Sh. 7.21, Sh. 5.09, Sh. 4.49 per litre respectively.”
Following these reductions, in Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Sh.199.15, Sh.190.38 and Sh.188.74 effective midnight on March 14 for the next 30 days.
Petrol, diesel and kerosene have been retailing at Sh. 206.36, Sh. 195.47 and Sh. 193.23 respectively in Nairobi.
The new drop is the biggest this year since the January review period which saw super petrol, diesel and kerosene decrease by Sh. 5, Sh. 5 and Sh. 4.82 per litre respectively.

The newly set prices are inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
In the period under review, landed cost for super petrol increased by 5.6 per cent to $703 compared to last month. Diesel dropped by 0.76 per cent to $722.49 while that of kerosene increased by 1.65 per cent to $730.50.
