On Saturday, July 27, 2024, power couple Njugush and Wakavinye pulled off one of Kenya’s most successful entertainment shows in Nairobi. The show that was dubbed as Through Thick and Thin 5 (TTNT 5) had a capacity for 6,000 attendees. It was all sold out.
Tickets for the show ranged from Sh. 1,000 for students, Sh. 1,500 for regular, and Sh. 3,500 for the VIP section. All the tickets were sold out hours before the show kicked off at the Sarit Centre Expo.
The success of the show is now set to open doors for TTNT6, which Njugush has already hinted at. “Thank you! 6,000 strong on God! Sasa mtatoshea wapi next?” he remarked on Saturday.
Njugush and his wife Wakavinye (real names Timothy Kimani and Celestine Ndinda) have become a darling of Kenyans in the comedy industry. Their story on how they climbed out of poverty to become the foremost comedy acts in Kenya has often been hailed as one of the most inspirational.

The celebrated comedian started at The Real House-helps of Kawangware show a couple of years back. He took a bold step to leave and start his own comedy venture. His move has since paid off, with his shows and corporate endorsements and sponsorships raking in millions of money for his brand.
The couple recently ventured into the transportation business. In April this year, they acquired an Isuzu NQR that is operating under the Super Metro Sacco.
“The greatest inspiration [for investing in the matatu sector] came from a training I attended a few months ago. They were talking about how we could convert liabilities into business and because I had the idea of selling my car, it was the right decision,” the comedian told the media.
“I needed someone who could manage it for me. It is easier to have your car in a Sacco than to manage it yourself. The Sacco takes care of everything, including finding a driver and maintaining discipline.”
