Priscilla wa Imani became an internet sensation and a celebrity almost overnight, courtesy of her whistling antics.
In a recent interview on Citizen Digital, the mother of two dismissed claims of unsound mind from part of her fanbase, attributing her remarkable success as a TikToker to God’s grace.
“Were I of unsound mind, I don’t think I would have been able to manage myself and my brand to this far”,
she said.
Priscilla describes herself as a wife, a mother, a businesswoman, and a gospel musician. She says the name “Wa Imani” was coined from her firstborn’s name, who is called Imani.
Gospel Songs
Before becoming a TikToker, Priscilla says she was a gospel musician. However, she found it hard to gain a footing in the music industry, so she decided to focus on Business matters.

She says she ventured into business to help take care of home responsibilities and take care of her children. She lives near Laikipia university and says she spends most of her time in her shop.
TikTok
The mother of two says she joined TikTok about six months ago. Her content creation journey began after she attended an event at her home, where her sister had invited some visitors. She turned the event into a sort of ‘ruracio’ as if the visitors had brought dowry.
“I closed the gate and instructed the women to welcome visitors with ruracio songs, as is the Kikuyu custom. During the event, someone video-recorded me without my knowledge”.
After a month, someone sent her the video. She uploaded it to her TikTok account, and it was highly appreciated by “Kameme Official” fans, who shared it on Facebook, and it went viral.
After that, she did the petrol station and supermarket videos, which went viral.
Why Do You Announce Your Location in Your Videos?
Priscilla says she discovered long ago that people loved her as an entertainer. For instance, she would attend a burial, and the MC would invite her to greet the crowd.

At Which Point Did You start Receiving Great Attention?

How Are You Able to Whistle for So long without getting Exhausted?
Wa Imani says she considers her whistling as a gift. She whistled to attract customers in the market, and the experience has built her whistling endurance to a point where she can do it for the whole day without getting exhausted.
“I was taught whistling from a young age by my uncle, who is almost my age mate. My interaction with peer boys at my young age made me a whistling veteran from an early age.”
How Are Things Financially
Besides Bonfire adventures, Priscilla says her brand has not received much recognition. However, meeting Sakaja helped her land a brand ambassador job with Keshine Investment, a real estate company.
She says she would also like to meet celebrities like Maina Kageni, Everlyn Wanjiru, and the WaJesus family. The TikToker says she considers herself a brand and is ready to accept more brand partnerships with interested companies.
“I consider myself a hardworking woman, and I will abide by their guidelines, should they accept me. I am also looking for a manager to handle some of my phone calls and job applications”.
