The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Thursday repulsed reports of the appointment of former Citizen Tv journalist Jacque Maribe as Head of Communications in the Ministry of Public Service.
The announcement was made by PSC chairperson Anthony Muchiri. He asserted that no such appointment had been made and neither had the board received a request to employ her.
He noted that Jacque Maribe’s position would be occupied through a competitive selection process which she was yet to begin on.
“For the record, the position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,” Muchiri noted.
The state owned department further alleged that CS Moses Kuria is quoted to have uttered the words, “It is true except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission.”
The clarification on Maribe’s employment status comes 3 days after the acquitted lady reportedly shared with a local publication that she had landed the prestigious job courtesy of her close connections with the Cabinet Secretary.
The internet was abuzz with Kenyans discussing her appointment days after being let off the hook in a big murder case. Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi took to his X account to thank CS Kuria for making the appointment.
“Congratulations, Jacque Maribe. May God bless you as you serve,” he wrote.
