Popular breakfast show radio presenter Sheila Kwamboka has left her job at Kiss 100 FM. The presenter announced to her followers that April 30, 2025 will be her last day at Kiss FM.
“Stepping into the new you requires letting go of the old you! Tomorrow [April 30] is the end of a very significant chapter in my life! For 13 years, radio has been my identity! It’s time for change! Tomorrow, I will host my last show,” Kwamboka stated.
Her announcement came a few days after Radio Africa Group which owns Kiss 100 FM announced that it is sending up to 27 employees home due to the financial difficulties that it has ran into.
Yesterday, we made the incredibly difficult decision to let go of 27 of our colleagues. This was one of the most challenging moments in our journey. These individuals have been a great part of our team for many years, some for over 20 years,” Radio Africa said in an internal memo dated April 25 that was issued by the Group’s chief executive officer Martin Khafafa.
“Please know that this decision was not taken lightly; it was necessary to ensure the sustainability of our business while facing rising operational costs in a harsh economic climate.”
It was not immediately clear whether Kwamboka was one of the affected employees. However, it was striking that she will be leaving the breakfast show together with her co-host Kerry Martin who also announced that he will quit the station on April 30.

“It’s been 11 years on radio. From my first show on Homeboyz Radio in 2014 to wrapping up Kenya’s biggest breakfast show on Kiss 100, this journey has been nothing short of a blessing,” said Martin.
“I’ve had the honour of doing what I love, with people I love — friends who became family, and listeners who became part of my story. Every laugh, every debate, every early morning — I gave it everything. And you gave me more in return.”
