Renowned journalist Rita Tinina is dead. Rita Tinina was found dead on Sunday at her home in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.
Reports say that she was suppose to have been on duty at NTV where she was working as a current affairs reporter but never clocked in. This raised alarm and her managers decided to go check on her at her home after attempts to reach her failed.
The cause of her death was not immediately established.

Reports indicated that her family members were present at the home when the police arrived to take her body to the mortuary.
As the news that Rita Tinina has been found dead spread, her current and former colleagues in the media have eulogized her as a trailblazer in the media.
“Rita Tinina was a trailblazer in electronic journalism in Kenya. She carved her niche by pursuing those hard stories that few journalists followed up. Rest in Peace Rita, journalism is poorer without you,” said former journalist Wanjohi Githae.
“I am who I am because I stood on her shoulders while at NTV. Go well my darling. Rita Tinina, the hand that held mine and never let go. I am broken,” said Lindah Oguttu.
“One of the finest in the game. One of the best to hold that microphone and report. Professional and seasoned. Sad to lose her. Rest in Peace Rita Tinina,” said Silas Nyanchwani.
