President William Ruto’s cabinet ministers are wealthier than the US President Joe Biden and his entire cabinet combined!
In an ironic contrast to the popular hustler narrative that President Ruto has been driving, he has nominated cabinet secretaries whose combined wealth is a combined Sh. 15.26 billion.
According to a report by financial magazine Forbes that was published last year, President Biden and his entire cabinet of 15 members has a combined wealth of Sh. 14 billion.
The US president himself is worth Sh. 958 million. This is less than the Sh. 1.2 billion that is owned by Mithika Linturi, the controversial court case-laden man Ruto has nominated to solve Kenya’s agriculture problems!
Biden’s deputy Kamala Harris is worth an estimated Sh. 838 million. This is less than what the incoming National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Professor Njuguna Ndung’u owns.
The forbes report says that US Attorney General Merrick Brian Garland and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen are the highest in terms of net worth at Sh. 2 billion followed by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at Sh. 1.2 billion.
In the Ruto cabinet, the richest is former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi whose net worth is Sh. 4 billion.
Musalia is followed at a far distance by Mithika Linturi who has wealth amounting to Sh. 1.2 billion.
Musalia and Linturi are followed by Simon Chelugui, Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u and Aden Duale who placed their respective net worth at Sh. 993 million, Sh. 950 million and Sh. 871 million respectively.
Trade cabinet secretary nominee Moses Kuria revealed that his net worth stands at Sh. 750 million followed by Attorney General nominee Justin Muturi with Sh. 700 million.
ICT CS nominee Eliud Owalo has Sh.645 million, Education CS nominee Ezekiel Machogu has Sh. 590 million wealth Transport CS nominee Kipchumba Murkomen comes in with Sh. 550 million wealth and Interior CS nominee Kithure Kindiki has wealth amounting to Sh. 544 million.
Energy CS nominee Davis Chirchir has wealth of Sh. 482 million, Mercy Wanjau (Sh. 475 million, Sports CS nominee Ababu Namwamba Sh. 425 million, Foreign Affairs CS nominee Alfred Mutua Sh. 420 million, Rebecca Miano Sh. 397 million, Peninah Malonza has Sh. 300 million, Alice Wahome Sh. 218 million, Florence Bore Sh. 200 million, Soipan Tuya Sh. 156 million, Salim Mvurya Sh. 120 million.
The least wealthy is Zachary Njeru who has been nominated as the cabinet secretary in charge of lands. His wealth stands at Sh. 80 million.
