Plumber Job Vacancy: The British High Commission in Nairobi is looking for a plumber in a vacancy that will see the successful applicant take home a starting salary of Sh. 112,883.

According to the job advert, the successful candidate will be part of the team which provides technical support on property issues, health and safety issues, and provision of routine maintenance to the British High Commission and its large residential estate. “He/she should be able to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlines and staff expectations. It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self-management and organisational skills,” says the advert.

The applicant is required to:

  • At least have 3 years working knowledge and Experience of both Industrial and Domestic   plumbing & gas works. (Preferably   Government – trade test 1).
  • Hold  a current driving licence and be a safe competent driver (accident free for   three years). Proof provided.
  • The applicant must be customer focused with excellent written and verbal  communication skills in English and he/she will be on an out of hours on call   rota system.

Main purpose of job:

Co-Op post

To be part of the TWG team who provides technical support on property issues, health and safety issues, and provision of routine maintenance to BHC and its large residential estate. He/she should be able to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlines and staff expectations. It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self-management and organisational skills.

Roles and responsibilities :

  • Carry out plumbing & gas installations, new and repairs, test & inspections   on existing water systems including completion of testing and inspection sheets
  • Reporting   to the supervisor of any problems encountered on site
  • To assist the onsite TWG team in the completion of tasks in a timely fashion and   to a high standard
  • Be familiar with the required Health & Safety standards governing the   plumbing & gas installation role.
  • Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs to the water systems on the British High Commission Estates both residential and non residential.
  • Carry out gas maintenance and repairs to the gas systems on the British High Commission Estates both residential and non residential.
  • Carry out maintenance of Chiller plants and Air Conditioning.
  • Installation  and repair of domestic plumbing and borehole pumps, booster pumps pressure   tanks and Geysers.
