In less than a week, another case of someone being attacked for their eyes has transpired in Kisii.
40-year-old Simon Kengere was discovered on Monday night allegedly at his home struggling to recover his eyesight after an attack.
Simon was attacked by a mob after he was involved in a love triangle. Fortunately, cops rescued the man and took him to the hospital. He was rushed to Gucha Hospital in Ogembo for treatment.
“It was reported that he was attacked by a mob after he was found breaking into a house. Our officers immediately responded and rescued him and rushed him to the hospital where he is being attended to,” said Charles Opondo, the area police commander.
Mr. Opondo clarified that there were too many rumors surrounding the case and investigations were still underway.
“There are others who say he was found in some woman’s house while others say he was a thief while others still saying he was a witch. We are still carrying out investigations and would be too early to give the exact reason why he was attacked,” said the police commander.

The family of Simon Kengere has sought to have him transferred to a different hospital. According to Simon, he was assaulted by men who broke into his suitors’ house.
“I was in the house when some man broke in and attacked me,” he said.
The attack on Simon has little to no resemblance to last week’s terrifying yet delicate case of Baby Junior Sagini who had his eyes ouged out in a brutal attack.
