Local goods and passenger carrier Skyward Express has officially launched a new route from Nairobi to Kitale.
This is in response to the overwhelming customer demand that the airline sought to address.
The flight, launched on Friday June 30th 2023, will operate from Wilson Airport. Skyward Express noted that the flights would be operational on a daily.
The carrier is expected to deploy a Dash8-Q100 aircraft for this particular route. Passengers will be required to pay a one-way fee of Sh. 6,900.
Furthermore, in December 2022, Skyward Airlines unveiled a new flight route between Nairobi and Kakamega to facilitate efficient travel.
This move sought to greatly reduce the travel time between the two cities and enhance passenger convenience.
Skyward Express has its aircrafts plying to other destinations, including Mombasa, Diani, Lamu, Malindi and Lodwar.
Confusion as EPRA defies court; increases fuel prices to historic highs
The timing of Skyward’s expansions aligns with the gradual recovery of the local and global aviation industry from the unprecedented challenges posed by the 2020 pandemic.
They included travel restrictions, border closures and reduced passenger demands.
With the new routes being functional, the airline has stretched its market in counties like Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia and many others.
