Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has distanced himself from a mobile loan app claiming to have partnered with him in offering loans to needy Kenyans.

In a statement on his official X account on Friday, December 15, Sonko said the app is being operated by fraudsters who are trying to swindle money from unsuspecting Kenyans.

“There is this app moving around on social media claiming they are in partnership with me to give out loans to the public. I wish to distance myself from it,” Sonko stated.
