Southern Bypass Accident: On Thursday night, Allan Ngugi died instantly when his BMW vehicle crashed into a truck along the Southern Bypass. The accident, in which the BMW vehicle was smashed into half has gone on to shock Kenyans, even as details emerged about Ngugi, who was in his late thirties.
One news report has said that Ngugi was trying to reach home when the accident occurred. But what has shocked many is the report that says that Ngugi had narrated how he had survived two previous road accidents on his Instagram page. This has raised queries on the type of driver the late Ngugi may have been.
Ngugi’s BMW X5 vehicle driver died on the spot after he rammed the lorry that was being driven on the fast lane, according to the police.
Whereas many reports online said that Ngugi had ploughed into a stalled lorry, Lang’ata OCPD Benjamin Mwanthi said it was more likely that the driver was speeding when the grisly Southern Bypass accident occurred.

“From what we have gathered so far, we suspect the driver was speeding on the fast lane when he crashed into the rear part of the loaded lorry which was moving slowly on the fast lane,” he said.
Another report said that Ngugi who worked as a Program manager at Trade Mark East Africa was rushing to beat the 10pm curfew when crashed between 9.20pm and 9.35pm.
“The postmortem indicated that all the ribs were broken, and so were the limbs and he over-bled,” a mortuary attendant was quoted as saying.
