Jonathan Jackson is a Kenyan business magnate who has carved a name for himself in the real estate industry. With his fingers in various pies, he has built an empire that spans different continents, culminating in his current investment in Nairobi’s skyline.
Born in Eldoret, Kenya, Jonathan’s early life is shrouded in mystery, with little information available.
However, he attended Hill School Eldoret and St Andrews Turi, where he honed his skills and prepared for his future endeavors.
He later moved to the United Kingdom, where he pursued his university education.
Fast forward a few years later, Jonathan established the Lordship Group in 1989, and he has been at the helm ever since.Â
The company’s headquarters is in Prague, Czech Republic, where he started by leasing and renting office space to small companies. With the income generated from the rents, he built his company and developed several properties in the country. He later sold some of these properties and expanded his business to other countries, including the United States and Kenya.
Jonathan has made significant investments in different areas in Kenya, including Karen Hills, Upper Hill, and Naivasha.
One of his notable investments is the 88 Nairobi Condominium, which is set to be the tallest building in Sub-Saharan Africa upon completion. This 44-story building, located in Upper Hill, Nairobi, is a testament to his commitment to changing the city’s skyline and supporting the less fortunate.
Apart from his real estate investments, Jonathan is also passionate about community development. He established the Jonathan Jackson Foundation, which aims to significantly impact communities in informal settlements by developing sustainable income-generating initiatives.Â
The foundation works with youth groups from slum areas, empowering them through sporting activities, training, and rehabilitation.
One of his notable community development efforts was when he acquired the Nairobi City Stars Football Club through his foundation in 2019. At the time, the team was on the brink of relegation to the third tier of the country’s football league.Â
However, after the acquisition, the club experienced a turnaround that propelled it to the premier league, where it currently sits at the 15th position on the national league.
Jonathan’s story is a testament to the power of patience, determination, and hard work.Â
He believes entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted, and the challenges can weigh one down. However, he advises aspiring entrepreneurs to stay the course and not give up, as results may take time to manifest.
