Tecra Muigai Death: Omar Lali, the boyfriend of the late Tecra Muigai, the daughter of Keroche Breweries chief executive officer Tabitha Karanja, is now set to face murder charges. This follows a fuling by Lamu Law Courts principal magistrate Allan Temba.
But how exactly did she die? Tecra was at her boyfriend’s house when she met her tragic death. Detectives probing the matter reportedly picked inconsistencies with his account of how the deceased met her death. Lali, had initially said that the late tumbled down the stairs before later changing his account to say she had tripped in the bathroom.
According to a report that appeared in the Daily Nation on Monday, Tecra, who was living with her boyfriend, Omar Lali, at a private residence in Shella on Lamu Island, fell down a flight of stairs on Tuesday, April 28. She had arrived early April to visit boyfriend Omar.
A related report further said that on Tuesday last week, Tecra was found unresponsive at the bottom of the staircase leading to their cottage by neighbours, who reportedly woke Lali. He was apparently asleep, unaware Tecra lay unconscious at the staircase.

“Witnesses said blood was oozing from her nose and mouth though many were unable to explain how she fell, or what could have triggered the fall,” a report in another local daily said.
The Star newspaper further said that, upon receiving news of her daughter’s accident, Tecra’s mother, Tabitha Karanja, chartered a private chopper that airlifted her for treatment at the Nairobi Hospital on April 27, from where she died on Saturday. “Friends, who did not want to be named, claimed she was conscious at the time she was airlifted to Nairobi,” the paper reported. She was in ICU for three days before she passed on.
