Media personality Terryanne Chebet has decided to resume her university studies after a 17-year hiatus. She is currently attending classes at the United States International University – USIU Africa.
Terryanne Chebet is determined to finally complete her education, a move that has caught many by surprise. She is renowned for her successful career in the media industry spanning over a decade.
In an Instagram post, Terryanne shared that she is currently preparing for her upcoming exams, saying that her educational journey is proving to be quite challenging.
Terryanne admitted to grappling with complex concepts like ‘Traditions, Values, and Theories’ in her coursework.
Despite these challenges, she believes in the importance of pursuing her dreams, emphasizing that her future career path would require her to have the necessary qualifications.
“Taking a leap of faith today, doing an exam, and confused about ‘Traditions, Values, Theories’….Maaan!!! I’ve always believed in the power of pursuing your dreams.”
“For me, that dream was going back to school. Why? Because I firmly believe that my next level requires it. That’s why I wear my student badge so proudly! (I go to @usiuafrica,” Terryanne disclosed.

In addition to returning to school, the 44-year-old highlighted how some of her lecturers and fellow classmates were young enough to be her children. She dispelled rumours that she was pursuing a post-graduate degree.
“Trust me, it’s not fun returning to complete an undergraduate degree with 17 years of work experience surrounded by my fellow students who could be my sons and daughters, and some people thinking you’re back to do your Ph.D.!”
“I even suspect that some of my lecturers are younger than I am. But, that idiom, age is just a number has never felt more appropriate,” she continued.
Terryanne’s illustrious career started at KBC before she joined CNBC Africa for a media stint. Later, Citizen TV came calling in 2010 before the mass layoffs in 2018 when Terryanne was among the affected.
Terryanne Chebet stated that sometimes, one needs to be courageous enough to take a step back and catapult their way forward, adding that age is just a number in her books.
“My conviction? Sometimes, we must be courageous enough to step back to catapult forward. I’ve had an incredibly beautiful career, and I thank God deeply for it, and I’m setting up the stage for the next.”
