Who are the Richest Comedians in Kenya? Though the comedy industry is young, a small population has made good money out of it, thanks to the ever-growing industry motivated by Kenyans willing to listen to jokes for laughter. Here are the richest comedians in Kenya.

He has nurtured some of Kenya’s greatest names, including Professor Hamo, MCA Tricky, Chemutai, MC Jessy, Eric Omodi, Chipukeezy, etc. Churchill appears on Classic FM alongside Maina Kageni, where he makes six figures. He is also one of the most coveted event MCs in Kenya.

2. Felix Odiwour aka Jalango

Felix, popularly known as Jalango, has worked at Kiss FM, Royal Media’s Hot 96, and MediaMax. He then returned to Kiss FM, where he hosted the breakfast show with Kamene Goro until early 2022. Jalango was featured on the popular K24 program Young Rich, where he revealed his net worth.

Sources say the comedian charges over Sh. 250,000 when he appears as an MC at an event.

He is said to have joined Hot 96, where he earned more than Sh. 800,000 per month before reverting to MediaMax to even higher pay. He can afford top-of-the-range luxury cars and mansions, making him arguably one of the richest comedians in Kenya. In 2022, he temporarily quit his media and comedy roles to contest for the Lang’ata MP position.

3. Eric Omondi

He was at one point one of Kenya’s funniest comedians. Eric was initiated into comedy by Churchill. His act evolved, ensuring that he has remained afloat as other comedians struggle to retain relevance. Comedy has seen Eric enjoy some serious dough and taken him to the class of the young and rich in the country. Over the recent years though, Eric’s financial position has been the subject of speculation due to his regular claims of owning assets that aren’t his. In 2021, he claimed to have bought a house in Karen worth over Sh. 150 million, only for the property to be revealed to belong to someone else.

3. Njugush

Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, has reinvented himself to become one of the highest-flying comedians in Kenya today. He quit the popular television show House helps of Kawangware to venture out on his own. He has seen grown his brand and netted some multimillion advertising deals with corporates such as Safaricom. He has also been the lead advertiser for Bountiful Safaris. The comedian drives a Landcruiser Prado J150 and recently moved into his own maisonette. He is regarded as one of the most humble comedians in the country.


5. Kiengei

He is the leading vernacular comedian in Kenya. He started with fellow vernacular comics such as Kihenjo. However, he scaled the heights to headline a morning radio show at Kameme TV. He also runs a music studio and doubles up as a pastor with the AIPCA church.

6. Abel Mutua and Phil Karanja

On the other hand, Karanja is the founder and force behind the production unit known as Phil It Tv. The duo is also the force behind Njugush. It is also notable that Karanja is married to Catherine Kamau, a fellow comedian, and actress who starred in the hit show Mother in Law.

6. Walter Mongare

Nyambane worked at Kiss FM alongside Caroline Mutoko before being poached by the government and was made Head of Radio for Kenya broadcasting corporation. Later he joined Kisii County as director of communication and finally Nairobi County as director of communication before pursuing private businesses. He has invested in the entertainment industry, real estate, agriculture, and transport.

During his radio years, he earned Ksh 250,000 alongside radio queen Caroline Mutoko.

7. MC Jessy

He is one of the fastest-rising MCs in Kenya.
