350,000 people deported from the United States in seven months

US President Donald Trump’s administration has deported nearly 350,000 people in seven months.

The number of people deported from United States includes nearly 200,000 people who have been deported by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It also includes repatriations by the US Customs and Border Protection and the Coast Guard, as well as immigrants who chose to self-deport themselves.

According to a report that was published by the CNN, ICE is on course to surpass the 300,000 deportations mark in the 2025 fiscal year. The fiscal year will conclude in September this year.

Co-Op post

This is largely because prior to President Trump’s inauguration,  ICE had deported  some 71,400 people between October 2024  and December 31, 2024.

These numbers will come close and, or might surpass the record figure of 316,000 deportations that ICE recorded in the fiscal year 2014 during former president Barack Obama’s administration.

“The Customs and Border Patrol, the agency responsible for border security, recorded more than 132,000 deportations this year. The department has also tracked around 17,500 self-deportations. Taken together with ICE’s actions, that amounts to nearly 350,000 deportations in the first seven months of Trump’s second term, ” the report by the CNN states.

The CNN further quoted a senior official from the Department of Homeland Security, stating that the ICE, CBP and the U.S Coast Guard had ramped up arrests and deportations at historic levels.

“In the face of a historic number of injunctions from activist judges, ICE, CBP, and the U.S. Coast Guard have made historic progress to carryout President Trump’s promise of arresting and deporting illegal aliens who have invaded our country. Additionally, illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now or face the consequence,” the CNN quoted the official.

The deportations come even as the administration of President Trump moves to ink agreements that will see the United States deport immigrants to third countries. Some of the countries that have agreed to accept deported immigrants include Uganda and Rwanda.
