TSC advertises 10,000 permanent, 25,550 intern jobs. How to apply

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised for 35,550 jobs. Out of these jobs, 10,000 will be permanent while 25,550 jobs will be internships.the internships will be valid for a two year period.

Out of the 10,000 permanent jobs, 9,000 will be for secondary schools while 1,000 will be for primary schools.

The 21,550 intern teachers will be dedicated to junior secondary schools. The remainder of 4,000 intern vacancies will be stationed at primary schools.

Intern teachers for junior secondary will earn Sh. 20,000 gross while primary teachers will earn Sh. 15,000 gross.

“Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under “Careers” or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 16/12/2022,” the TSC said in its advert.

To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

i) Be a Kenyan citizen;

ii) Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education with a minimum

mean Grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching Subjects in KCSE or its equivalent.

iii) Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission.

Teachers applying for primary school positions will need to meet the following requirements:

i) Be a Kenyan citizen

ii) Must be a holder of a PI Certificate;

iii) Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

Teachers with Upgrade Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (CBC) will have an added advantage.

In addition to the above qualifications an applicant for Teacher Internship posts must at the time of application meet the following extra requirements:

a) Should not have been in previous employment with the Teachers Service Commission, as a teacher on permanent terms;

b) Must have a Personal Accident Insurance to cover for personal risks during the internship period.

During verification/ interviews applicants shall be required to produce the following:-

i) A copy of Teacher Registration Certificate/print-out from TSC online portal as evidence of registration as a teacher;

ii) A copy of National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card (where applicable);

iii) A copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport;

iv) Two (2) colour passport size photograph

v) A copy of National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card;

vi) A copy of Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN).
