Former Uchumi Supermarket managers are set to be prosecuted for their role in bringing down the retailer. This is according to State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu.
In his weekly State House briefing on Sunday, Mr. Esipisu said that the national cabinet is convinced that enough evidence has been collected against hose who brought Uchumi down.
“Enough evidence has been gathered to press charges against persons who may have mismanaged its cash and assets. Ladies and gentlemen, there will be accountability,” said Mr Esipisu.
“One way to do that is to ensure that there are consequences for past misuse. That’s why I want to be clear today: there has already been a forensic audit of Uchumi.”
