Johnson Sakaja has been elected as the Governor of Nairobi. Sakaja has defeated Polycarp Igathe who was vying to become the Governor of Nairobi on a Jubilee party ticket.
Sakaja, who vied on a UDA party ticket, garnered 699,392 votes against Sakaja who scooped 573,518.
Sakaja has been serving as the Senator for Nairobi. His campaign bid was rocked with controversy over the legitimacy of his degree.
Igathe came into the election as the former deputy governor for Nairobi.
