Uhuru and Raila: A Nairobi-based popular lawyer has claimed that opposition chief Raila Odinga saved President Uhuru Kenyatta’s life in 2018. The lawyer and blogger known as Wahome Thuku says in a series of Facebook posts that the act is what apparently led to the infamous handshake that has saw Uhuru get cozy with Raila.
The ‘friendship’ between Uhuru and Raila and the public display of affection the two have been according each other is being widely seen as an act of betrayal against deputy president William Ruto who had, until the handshake, been close buddies with the president.

At first, Mr. Thuku said:
“THE President has fallen out with his Deputy. That is spotlessly clear to everyone.
NOW I will tell you once more with authority. That the fallout is very personal. Closely high end politics but in fact a highly security/family affair. Nothing to do with dynasty.
Some of you have been asking why the reasons were not there in 2013 and 2017. Yes they were not there. The reason (just one) arose around the time Raila swore himself at Uhuru Park, way after the repeat election.
Its a very very justified reason for the fallout. Its the same reason (the other aide of it) that brought Uhuru that close to Raila Odinga. Forget the building bridges whatever.
Actually that relationship between UK and WSR is only hanging there ready to fall on its own. Its the kind of reason that shall shock you when its put in a book 20yrs from today.

Now whether that reason can or can’t influence your voting, that is really your own issue. Only that, don’t blame Uhuru for distancing himself from his deputy.”
The lawyer quickly followed it up with an update castigating those who doubted his assertion:
“I said its personal
I said the details will come in a book 20 yrs from today.
And you have been yapping for hours disputing and doubting. Who said I was asking you to believe it or to do anything about it?
What is so hard in waiting for just 20 yrs?”
On January 20, after President Uhuru reportedly breached protocol in Kisumu and drove away with Raila, the lawyer made posts on his Facebook forum claiming that Raila had saved Uhuru’s personal life: Here are the Uhuru and Raila posts:
