Uhuru: How my sons got 6 guns and what they use them for

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has come out to shed more light on the guns the government has claimed are owned by his sons.

Speaking on Monday to the Daily Nation, the former president said that his sons currently own six guns, with each son owning three.

The former president said that he had advised his sons to apply for the guns after the government declined his request to provide them with security.

“My son Jomo has never been interested in weapons. He was forced to apply for a gun after his security was withdrawn,” Uhuru said.

The former head of state said that his first born son Jomo Kenyatta applied for the guns to provide protection to his family, while his other son applied for the guns both for protection and a hobby he has for bird shooting.

“My son Jomo applied for three guns for his family’s protection, which are also vital in the operations at our farm, with the open safari camps, in Narok County,” he told the Nation.

“My younger son has interest in guns and it’s because of his hobby of shooting of birds in Mwea Irrigation Scheme to scare them away. They are for animals and he applied after I was out of office.”
