The US Embassy in Nairobi has announced fresh changes in its visa application process. The new changes impact on passport collection for applicants whose visas have been approved.
In the new announcement, the US Embassy in Nairobi has moved passport and document collection centre to BLS Kenya. Previously, the embassy has been using DHL to return passports and supporting documents to visa applicants. Here is what the US Embassy said in its communication to visa applicants:
Dear Visa Applicant,
Please be informed that from April 7, 2025, the US Embassy in Kenya has changed the document delivery provider and there is a change to the location where you will pick-up your passport and any supporting documents. Please read the following information carefully.
If your visa application is approved, you will receive an email notification at the email address you entered at the time you scheduled your appointment or received the document courier-in instructions. The email will include the shipping reference number, pick-up location, and instructions on how to pick up your document(s).
It can take up to 5 business days from the date your visa application was approved for your documents to be ready for pick up. Based on the information in the email, you will pick up your documents this location:

Do not go to the BLS location if you have not received an email with the shipping reference number and the required proof of identity. Once you receive the courier email notification plan to go to the BLS location and you must prove your identity by bringing the documents listed on the following link: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ke/niv/information/courier
If the default pick-up location is not convenient, you may change the document delivery location (some pick-up locations require an additional fee) by following https://ais.usvisa-info.com.
