The Kenya Shilling on January 15, 2024 recorded a nasty historical low after sinking past Sh. 160 to the US dollar.
According to the Central Bank of Kenya’s indicative exchange rate, the Shilling closed the day at a low of 160.2384 to the USD.
On the same day, the Shilling traded at lows of 204.76 against the Sterling Pound and lows of 175.9 against the Euro.
On the same day, the shilling traded at lows of 120 against the Canadian dollar and lows of 107.6 against the Australian dollar.
The shilling has been sinking without making any recoveries whatsoever since September 13, 2022 when the current administration came to power.
As of August 2022, the Shilling traded at 119.12 against the US dollar. It traded at 32.60 against the Uganda Shilling and 19.59 against the Tanzania Shilling.
