Projects Execution Manager

Reporting to the Business Development Director, the job holder will be responsible for the following:-

1. Provide effective leadership in overseeing successful end-to-end delivery of KenGen’s electric power generation projects.

2. Demonstrate ability for application of broad knowledge, skills and experience in the field of Project Management across key stages of project cycle management namely; concept development, project inception, project implementation (procurement, supervision, program management, Engineering design review, human resource planning and management) and commercial commissioning.

The projects will span the various KenGen power generation mix comprising Geothermal, Hydro, Thermal, Wind and others as will be determined from time to time.

3. Expected to draw on industry experience to provide strategic advisory input on cross-cutting issues impacting successful delivery of projects in the power sector alongside contemporary topical matters.

4. Expected to demonstrate a good mastery of management skills relevant for managing a cross functional team and wider stakeholders in successful delivery of projects across Kenya.

Key Qualifications

•Undergraduate degree from a recognized University preferably in a relevant field of Engineering.

Professional Registration or qualification with a relevant professional body.

A minimum relevant experience of Ten (10) years in a technical field or project implementation environment with demonstrated track record of successful delivery of capital intensive projects, Three (3) of which
should have been at a management role;

• Demonstrable ability to simultaneously manage multiple project team leaders, content specialists, including Consultants, Contractors, Legal and Environmental experts.

• An accomplished people manager and a capable leader with demonstrable team working and coaching skills.

• Possess proven managerial, administrative, marketing and public relations skills and able to offer support and guidance to existing and potential KenGen stakeholders.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications and other project implementation software.

• Self-motivated, flexible, mature and articulate in speech and presentation and should have excellent analytic skills, problem identification and solving skills.
